Das goldene Märzen: Vollmundig, kräftig, malzig! Feine Karamellnoten und angenehm-milde Hopfenbittere! Ein wahres Genusserlebnis!

This golden yellow Märzen beer, a jewel of Bavarian brewing, combines an exceptionally fine scent with a light, fruity flavor. Full-bodied and spicy at the same time, the malt is emphasized from first sip to the finish.

Aromas are slightly dry amber malt, tree bark, dry grain. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose but on the sweet side. Not a lot of depth. Very drinkable for sure but kind of average.

From Belgian Style Ales, code of 094P.

Pours a clear light amber plenty of foam, good retention and lacing.

Smell is big grain, brown sugar like sweetness, some roasted notes, no bitterness.

Taste is grain, brown sugar sweetness, roasty, again, no bitterness. Rather different than a lot of Marzens that I have had. Older sample? Still is very pleasant.

Medium bodied light with the carbonation, I'd drink this again.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a dark gold with moderate sized white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, pear, grass, spice. Taste again quite malty with bread and some caramel, not much fruitiness, some grass and spice in the finish. Nice malt depth to be fair. Pretty good.

500ml bottle as part of a delivery from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. Golden brown and clear with a small smattering of off-white head. Caramel, honey, spicy yeast in the aroma. Sweet taste, more yeasty caramel in the mouth, with some medicinal bittering hops giving some balance in the finish. Body's fairly thin, with medium carbonation. Fairly typical Festbier, but not a bad one.
