Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a large creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasty malt. Med body. Flavor matches the aroma, but there is some oak astringency. Dry. Bitter. Good schwarz.

Can from While Paycheck. Pint glass @home. Marshmallow cocoa head. Dusty, darker & fuller than cola, but maybe less than a stout. Cocoa powder nose. A melted tiramisu sort of smell. Nutty, sweet wood, no bbq, cocoa powder, cola, boiled peanuts. Dusty, low carbonation, semisweet, really smooth, indifferent booze. Slightly too sweet, but really liked it.

Pretty good Schwarz beer that pushes the traditional boundaries. The aromas are roast, dark malt and coffee. Flavors are similar to nose but in interesting combination of the above plus some floral and spice. I guess there's some oak in there. Mildly sweet up front balanced with good carbonation and a little bitter. Interesting black lager.

Can pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! It's an opaque black with dark brown at the bottom of the glass with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, thin cap of khaki head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong, nice woody oak, roasted malt and milder toffee. Taste is oaky wood, earthy roasted malt with lighter toffee. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, the oak adds such an amazing element to this! A delight.

16 oz. can. Aroma is toasted grain, coffee, barley. Flavor is the same with addition of mild oak, molasses, and earthy hints. Really great depth of flavor for the style. This is the best beer I’ve had from this brewery.

Can from Cloudwater online shop. Pours opaque dark brown with an off white head. The nose has dark malts & caramel. On the taste it's light sweet with light caramel notes, hints of smoke & a little sour edge. Light to medium body with a semi dry bitter finish. Not a great deal to it

Can at home in the garden, whilst cooking on the BBQ, 19th April 2020. Pours like a cola, aroma has dark malts, caramel. Taste is malty, light smoke, light caramel, refreshing and very drinkable, quite authentic.

Can ordered from Cloudwater. Sweet and floral, a hint of chocolate, with a vinous sour edge. Opaque dark cola brown. Foamy beige head soon fades. Initial light sour. This smooths out into creamy chocolate sweetness. Underlying bitterness is more obvious into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Creamy. Lazy fizzy carbonation. Tangy astringent finish. Slips down. Refreshing. A bit of bite to it.
