500ml bottle. Cloudy, dark chestnut colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige head. Sweet-ish, wheaty malty, minimally nutty and toasty, slightly yeasty fruity aroma, notes of banana, baked banana, a touch of dark forest honey, weak, yeasty spicy overtones with a touch of mustard. Taste is slightly watery, sweet-ish, toasty, wheaty malty, slightly yeasty fruity, hints of overripe banana, baked banana, a touch of dark honey, nougat. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively multi-facetted, maybe a tad too sweet - not bad.

From the advent calendar from whence everyone else is getting this: pours a mahogony muddy brown with small head. Aroma is some banana, figs and a bit of spice. Taste is sweet, fruity, spicy. Body is a little thin. Would have been happy to see this be a bit more substantial.

500 ml can from the Advent calendar, labeled as Eagle Bräu Weizenbier dunkel. I'm a day late on this because I was hungover af yesterday. Aroma is clove, bubblegum, caramel, bready, apple. Pours hazy amber with a one finger off-white head with decent retention. Taste is sweet, savory and spicy with clovey phenols. Has a light acidity in the finish. Good example from an underrated style.

Deep brown and lightly bronzed coloured body with a smooth and smallish, single centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of nuts, caramel, light malt, a touch of coconut and grain with a dash of raisins and fig sweetness throughout - fairly nice. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty flavour at first with a very smooth finish of pure wheat along with some caramel, toffee, pears, apples and fig-based sugars with a dash of very light bitterness at the very end. Aftertaste shows the more soft and rounded yeast and wheat elements, with hardly any residual yeast, but some light sugars that go unfinished along with a smooth effervescence and a touch of drying malts and a dash of apple and pear notes on the finale. Overall, a pretty nice and understated dunkles with a dry sweetness of apples and pears that seems to persist throughout to make a nice and enjoyable wheat-based beer, even in December from Germany! I sampled this 500 mL can as Day Two [of twenty-four] of the 2018 Christmas Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 30-September-2018 for US$59,99/twenty-four, sampled at my house here in Washington on 02-December-2018.

Can from Santa. Pours a dark amber color with a medium tan head. A big sweet toasted malt nose. Light fruit, more toast in the flavors, fairly crisp. Solid.

Can from Jeremy. Murky brown, muddy. Weak aroma and taste, light seized flavors, some sweetness. Just plain average.
