Golden with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with toffee, bread and a touch of almond. Crisp, refreshing and slightly fruity flavour with very elegant alcohol. I'm pretty sure it's the best non-hoppy heller bock I've had

Bottle @ Rewe, Memmelsdorf. Last Bottle. Thank God. Felt like finding a rare Cantillon Pre 2010. Trophy. Release was October so 6 months old. Pours hazy Golden with a small stable White head. Sweet and honey-ish nose. Breadcrumbs, melon, grass and biscuit. Pillowy soft and oily. Bitter grassy finish. Superb. Amazing How Well this is still standing.

Bottle 50cl. @home poured into a glass tankard. Slightly unclear medium amber colour, good frothy white head, half-way lasting, good lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel, bready, grassy hops, light alcohol notes. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee, bread, light alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, smooth malty sweetbitter aftertaste, lingering light bitter finish, nice bock.

Hölzlein Bock, Flasche von dem unverzichtbaren Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. (Ludger Berges sei Lob und Dank dafür, daß er keine Mühe scheut, Köstlichkeiten heranzuschaffen, die selbst in Franken mitunter schwer aufzutreiben sind.) - Rotgold, schwach trüb; üppiger sahniger Schaum. - In der Nase tiefes Münchner Malz, feine Noten von Karamel und Honig, ein wenig Mandarinenherbe. - Antrunk tief und satt rotmalzig mit schöner Malzsüße, ausbalanciert durch feine Frucht (Aprikose, Mandarine, Rhabarber, ein Anflug von Banane) und frische Kräuter. Milder rezent, vollmundig, leicht kremig; perfekt kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang frische kräuterige Hopfenherbe. - Aromatisch gehopfter fränkischer Bock von großem Tiefgang, dennoch süffig. Ein Meisterwerk. (5.12.2019.)

Draught (Cafe Abseits, Bamberg) - Golden/light amber with a white head. Sultanas, dried apricot, grain and honey in the aroma. Slightly sweet taste but with some nicely balanced hoppy and malty notes with hints of sultanas, dried apricot, peach and caramel.

Optisch typisch heller Bock, leichte Perlung. In der Nase süß, Honig, ebenso deutlich im Trunk, Karamell, süffig süß, langer cremiger Nachhall. Lecker.

On tap at Café Abseits Bamberg. Clear dark golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, malty nose. Sweet malty, grainy, light bready and notes of caramel with touch of alcohol in rather sweet finish. Not bad at all.

Clear amber with å medium White head. Aroma had caramel, toffee and floral hints. Flavor was sweet with notes of toffee, sweet pale malt and caramel. Finish on the sweet side b ut not cloying.
