Bottle. Banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma - very nice. Cloudy golden yellow color with large head and mild effervescence. Slight sweet lemon/banana, strong clove and light wheat malt flavor. Not bad - a bit light.

The bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass also. Deep orange, very zippy, nice head. Starts yeasty-fruity, like banana, some notes of cinnamon. Finish well balanced, a bit dry, quite drinkable. Not bad!

Bottled (thanks Jukkabro!). Slightly hazy orange colour, with medium white foamy/bubbly head. Aroma is wheat, sweet fruits, some herbal notes as well as something that reminds me of canned tuna... Flavour is wheat,s ome herbs and some mild fruity notes as well. Also mild yeast and cardboard to be noted.

Bottle, 5.3%. Quite cloudy orange colour. The flavour has a little fat banana, surprisingly much real wheat flavour. Thick, slightly slimy mouthfeel. A little teaish hop note is also present.

(bottle) Cloudy, pale orange colour with a huge and persistent foamy white head. Dusty, slightly sweet wheaty and citrus-fruity aroma with a touch of cloves and vanilla and even faint hoppy notes. Light sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather smooth carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Malty and slightly fruity taste with light yeasty notes; moderately sweet and fruity finish with delicate clovy notes. Clean and balanced Hefeweizen.

Drab orange-yellow with olive shine; high, rather even off-white head, fed by lively carbonation. Very citrussy nose(lemon & orange), pickled with cloves. Well - "pickled" - it has something of pickles, but not vinegary; peppery, juniperberry. Dry, nearly bitterish taste, both wheat and barleymalt, but nearly no acidity, though there is indeed a certain wryness. Faint citrus. Dryness is remarkable, and not unpleasant. Medium bodied, wheat slickness. After all, pretty typical Weizen. Thanks, joss.

Rererate: Downgraded scores for poor performance. Wow I have never experienced a weissbier which developed that much foam when I poured it into the glass - it essentially filled it all up and half of the beer was still in the bottle (yes the weissbierglas should be able to hold it). Five minutes later: Ok, I believe it is safe to say that the beer has a stable head, it dissipates veeery slowly and I add a bit more beer at a time...ok now the last bit...the yeast from the bottom dissolves in the liquid and now it looks brownish apricot with a nice white head - I’ll give it a 5 for the effort. The aroma is a bit disappointing - the standard estery clove which is the baseline of almost all weissbier here in Bavaria - ok I know I’m spoiled. Now for the taste...mhh it has a nice mouthfeel - fills out the throat, bready on the tip of the tounge, less carbonation than i expected, also not that many fruitflavors - still nice though. Now the head is gone...strange, must be Benno Scharls revenge (see rating). Ok all in all this is a pretty average Weizen - I sometimes wish the brewers here would try to experiment a bit more, I mean that is the fun part in homebrewing so why not in commercial brewing?..but then again I don’t have to make money when I brew and it is kind of nice to know that no matter which small brewery you try beer from in this corner of the world, they will have minimum one good Helles or Weizen which has not aquired the "international" taste yet.
