Our Fated Farmer Series is a landmark step toward realizing our foundational vision for Trillium: Build a place that intuitively celebrates the intersection of New England farming, agriculture, brewing, and integrated community experience. The grist of each of the dynamic Fated Farmer wild ales is set on the structure of Valley Malt and is barrel fermented in 500L puncheons with our Native New England Wild Culture and aged for 5-7 months, before refermenting on freshly harvested fruit.

Presenting a gorgeous burgundy color with crimson highlights, Fated Farmer: Concord Grape offers a bold and lucid aroma of Welch's grape juice. As the glass opens up, notes of Merlot, raspberry jam, and hints of blueberry offer supporting roles. Finishing dry, with a well-rounded acidity that rides upon a light and effervescent body, this is a distinct addition to our Fated Farmer lineup.

Bottle. Lightly hazy copper colored, small white head. Lightly funky, herbal, berryish, some vinegar, leather. Full body, nice carbonation, dry and lightly acidic. Berries, herbal, perfumed, rosehip, some funk, caramel, barnyard. Lemon towards the finish. A bit weird but still nice. 250420

Bottle from Beerdome. Rich grapey aroma with funk, tart red and dark berries, cassis, red wine, raspberry jam, oak, and yes some definite blueberry. Flavour is nicely tart, modestly sour with some mild jammy sweet tones. Medium body. Love the way the funk and grape interact... Delicious.

Draught, Fort Point, 1/6/22. Lightly-to-minimally hazy, beautiful violet-to-burgundy with a small, pinkish head that recedes quickly. Grape, chalk, heavy mineral and moderate tartness in the nose, but seemingly none of the excess of earlier Fated Farmers. Not overly complex but it strikes a good balance of fruit, tartness and light, biscuity malt with no alcohol or flaw noted. Soft and quite dry in the mouth, on the lighter side, with plentiful tartness and tons of clear, authentic, concord grape flavor. Tending towards a bit monotonous, and I'd appreciate a bit more softness/suppleness to the texture, but still quite enjoyable.
