Bottle. Clear chestnut. Malt, apple, buttery metallic caramel. Full, fluffy, a decent bitterness, creamy and not too sweet. This is good.

50cl Fles van Bierothek.nl. Kastanjebruine kleur, lichtbeige kraag. Moutig, licht stoffig, droog, heel licht fruitig, noten, opbouwende bitterheid in de finish. Lichte tot medium body. Degelijke bock.

0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before April 2024. Clear, dark brownish red with a medium large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, a bit fruity aroma of caramel, raisins and some nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and a little fruity taste of caramel, cocoa, some nuts and light raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid Bock, well-balanced and harmonious.

Pours a beautiful deep/dark amber, transparent, with a quite big head per style, rather dense, the slightest off-white. Shows good retention and some lacing. A pretty deep warming aroma: malty sweetness with caramel and lighter nuttiness, maybe a hint of honey, but also a distant roasted malts hint. Quite vivid fruity notes (dark/dried fruits, plum most noticeable), the slightest spicy hint. You can also feel a light floral bitterness. Super nice and rich, a bit more intensity/definition would make this awesome. Taste notes as per aroma, again lacking a bit in intensity, especially for the relatively high abv. There's more bitterness than usual for the style with a quite distinct floral bitterness that brings a relatively dry finish. Still a classic dark bock though, with it's gentle warming sweetness. Medium body, low to medium carbonation, slightly soft but mostly smooth and surely an easy drinker for the abv. Very good, 0.5 liters went down even too quick for a bock.

"Bock dunkel" von der Brauerei Wagner, Merkendorf, Flasche von REWE, Lichteneiche. - Dunkles Rotgold, blank. - In der Nase tiefes Wiener- und Dunkelmalz, Anklänge an Schokolade und Bitterorange und feine aber lebhafte herbale Hopfung. - Antrunk satt aber kernig malzig, mehr Dunkel- als Wiener Malz, mit Bitterschokolade, Mokka und bocktypisch fülliger aber nirgends klebriger Süße. Molasse, Nuß und Honig ergänzen die runde Fülle. Die solide fränkisch-herbale Hopfung mit bitterer Orangenschale und eleganten mediterranen Zügen hält sich vornehm im Hintergrund und tritt erst im Abgang stärker in Erscheinung, wo sie mit beträchtlicher Malzbittere konkurriert. Vollmundig, leise mitschwingender Alkohol. Langer bitterer Nachtrunk. - Kerniger aber runder, tiefer und vielschichtiger Bock mit einer Fülle von perfekt ausbalancierten Geschmacksnuancen.
