9/VI/24 - 37.5cl bottle form Geers (Oostakker) I think, shared @ Fleur & Christoph’s place, BB: +5Y, bottled: II/2021 (2024-376)

Clear orange beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, a little adhesive. Aroma: funky, fruity, some citrus, spicy touch, a little malty. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice, quite some alcohol, spicy, earthy, a bit sweet, a little funky. Aftertaste: sweet, bitter touch, earthy, a little funky, fruity, sweet, nice stuff! Doesn't taste like a traditional lambic/geuze though...

Pours fairly clear, warm blonde. Small white head. Scent is malty, full, milder acidity. Soft. Taste is full, malty lambic. Woody, funky. Alcohol is very well hidden. it works very well, and is actually quite nice !

750mL bottle at DHVL, pours a clear bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma is briny and salty, with gentle funk, oak, and a touch of earthiness. Flavour is gently tart, with plenty of oak, leather, booze, and some earthiness. It's definitely not a top-tier gueuze — the blend is nice but the refinement isn't there, and the booze is not so well-contained. Enjoyable but not an amazing gueuze.

22nd August 2022; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange gathering in Chez Sophie. Usual 5 in attendance, cheers Simon for the 750ml cork and capped bottle of this sour-puss. White topping on a hazy golden/yellow body. Lemon juice nose and taste, it went down well with the other four guys but I struggle with this sort of beer, just too sour for me.

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Aug 22. Thanks Simon for this. Hazed yellow appearance, pure white head. Lovely lemony citrus and wild gueuze funk aroma. Continues to taste, excellent vibrancy of flavours, good lemony citrus, perhaps a hint of Belgian blonde yeast, lovely bristling sourness with a mild oaky influence. Really well presented.

2021 bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is lemony, leather, zezty, fresh. Taste is the same, noticeable alcohol. Sparkly carbonation, nice kick. Oily mouthfeel. Solid one!

Bottle from HoTM. It pours clear golden amber with a magnificent fluffy white head that lasts until the last drop - exceptional! The aroma is sweet upfront, baked goods, pastries, pain au raisin in particular, lovely vinous white wine vibes, sultana, touch of mixed peel, panettone, hay, dried floral vibes, preserved lemon, dry oak and some warming fortified wine. The taste is crisp, dry and snappy, nip of acidity upfront which dissipates, white grape, gooseberry, lemon - lime, fizzy cola bottles, sherbet, refreshers, the booze is there for sure but is well integrated, like booze soaked fruit cake, less Scottish style but more Italian (please refer to panbriacone), limoncelo, crunchy granny smith apple, raisin, sultana and dry oak with a dry, musty finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy, effervescent carbonation. Exquisite. So much depth. Lovely combo of sweet and sour. Can't believe such a high abv geuze works so very well. Love it.
