Bottle. Orange blonde color, hazy. Just a hint of smoke and peach in the aroma. Malty flavor with hints of iodine, smoke and pineapple. Not in any way comparable to the Bamberg smoked beers, let alone the Islay malt whisky barrel aged beers, but a very nice beer in its own right.

500ml Bottle - Golden with a white head. The aroma is moderately smoky with notes of ash and citrus. The taste leans more onto the citrussy side with the noticeable yet fairly subtle smoky notes taking a backseat.

Probier 2016. Hazy golden, offwhite foam. Buttery malt start, tropical nuts, a bit peat, a hint buttery finish. Fullbodied.

Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is grass, hops, butter, onion. Taste is lots of butter. Sugary sweet, less hop bitterness. Very smooth and heavy. Nice.

Tap. Orange-copper color with big eggshell head. Aroma is grainy, malty, sweetish fruits, diac. Taste is sweetish, malty, slightly fruity, buttery again. Medium carbonation. Not bad, but not impressive either.

Bottle from Landbierparadeis. Cloudy, deep gold, low head. Nose of smoke and fruit: a bit of peat, esters, orange, peaches, biscuits. Smokey, fruity, estery flavor, peaches, oranges, a touch of banana. Quite bitter. Creamy and smooth. Very interesting beer, light smoke and not so peaty. Enjoyable.

Bottle bought at Landbierparadies Nuremberg. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Fine malty-smokey aroma. Starts fine malty spicy with an interesting smokey touch. Notes of bacon. Fine spicy, modest grasy. Finish well balanced, still with that fine smokey notes. Nice!
