500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch angenehm rauchig, malzig, Karamell. Geschmack leicht rauchig, röstmalzig, würzig.

Day 3 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle from the Rewe Bamberg shared on the train from Bamberg to Nuremberg, 26/01/14. Rich golden with a good sized off white head. Nose is straw, light citrus, grain, bready malts, faint hops. Taste comprises a bitter lemon twang, touch of spice, bread dough, touch of caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying closure. Ok stuff but as per Sir Kenneth of Essex - smoked ? First I knew about that was when I saw the style on RB as I entered the rate !

Bamberg Bash Day 3. Train swig. Almost clear amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy. Sweetish malt, tangy dried fruits and a little floralness. Whisper of marmalade. Light dry finish. What smoke?

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice small head. Starts mild but not washy. Dominated by malty notes, fine spicy, not much hoppy notes. Interesting hints of caramel. Well balanced finish and quite drinkable. Nice!

Im Antrunk hopfig-frisch breitet sich das Röstmalzaroma langsam im Mund aus. Im Abgang wieder leicht hopfenbetont, dabei aber nur leicht herb. Der "Hauch von Rauch" ist dann im Nachgeschmack nach ein paar Sekunden deutlich auszumachen!
--> Sehr schönes Bier, das aber doch etwas mehr Körper gut vertragen könnte.

Bottle at Cafe Abseits Bamberg. Clear brown lasting beige head. Its ok v lightly smoked. V easy drinking bit too carbonated. Ok though.

Pale amber pour. The aroma has a little bit of soft rauch malt and some soft noble hopping. A lingering smokiness but it’s quite lovely.

Bottle. Clear amber with a short lived head. Aroma is light caramel. Flavour is nutty malt with a gentle smokiness mixed in. Nicely balanced

Clear amber beer, off-white irregular head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: some malts, sweet caramel, bit yeasty, some spices. MF: soft carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sweet malts, little bitter, caramel, sweetness, some overripe fruits, cloves, touch of smoke. Aftertaste: banana, little bitter, cloves. This ain't no Rauchbier!
