Can from Sainsbury’s. Black body with a thin tan head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of rum, liquorice and prune. Flavour of nuts and dark chocolate. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Rich and boozy. This is very nice and I was pleased to see no lactose on the ingredients list.

Can from EeBria, consumed 4 months past BBE. Look: thick pour, black with big tanned head. nice lacing Nose: Big coffee notes with chocolate, vanilla sweetness and roast; quite full on. Taste: coffee, treacle, liquorice, roast, sweet syrup. Palate: full bodied, smooth, low carbonation. Good stuff.

Can from Sainsbury's dot com I believe. It pours pretty much black (darkest brown perhaps) with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, oily, plenty of chocolate, gateaux, vanilla, Neapolitan ice cream, deep roast, plenty of coffee, jammy fruits and toasted fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, bitterness lingers, charred, dark roasted malt, plenty of chocolate, gateaux, vanilla cake frosting, nice big hit of coffee, touch of umami, warming booze and some spice. Fulsome body and fine to moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is sticky / oily as it warms up a bit. Works well overall. Flavourful and never too sweet (common feature in many modern beers).

44cl can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with fine brown foam. Aroma is of sweet licorice, molasses. Body is rather full, with nice soft carbonation. Taste is rather roasty and bitter, but ends also with a nice underlying sweetness. Final is fairly long and sweet.

Milig den har kompleksitet ig subtilitet, men det meste drunker i alkoholpreg og endel kaffe, dessverre. Kanskj om jeg klarte å lagre den i et par-tre år?

Rocky tan head on left a froth on a near black body. Malt, liquorice & roasted aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth on the tongue leaving a lively clean back. Liquorice, treacle, spicy, plum chocolate & boozy tastes with a peppery finish. Big Hitter & I'll bow out after this. Hatseflats!
