Jack-O's cinnamon and nutmeg aromas recall memories of freshly baked pumpkin pie. It has the ideal balances of seasonal spices with a crisp, refreshing finish. This pumpkin ale pairs perfectly with the transition of summer into cooler days and nights.

Cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, caramel malt and straw aroma. Hazy dark amber with moderate white head. Moderately sweet cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, malt, and mild bitter hay flavor. Good body - good balance. Pretty good.

Wegmans bottle. Orange with a small dusting of a head. Nose is pumpkin, spice, hair tonic. Pumpkin pie spice: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove... but lots of sugar. Also actual pumpkin and some cream. Too sweet

Closer to a Pumpkin Pie Jones Soda than a beer. Relentlessly sweet, full of brown sugar and custard and spices, with nary a trace of ale to be found. “Natural flavor” abounds. Hard pass.

Very nice clear and deep brown coloured body with a faint ruby glow and some lighter brown tints with copper towards the bottom of the glass. Aroma of super strong and enjoyable pumpkin/squash with a ton of pumpkin pie spices with the allspice and canella by far the strongest. Light-bodied; Sweet profile at first that shows caramelised sugars, a lot of toffee and treacle with some specialty grains coming through and a dose of earthiness as well, but the spicey qualities are the strongest and show very well, along with a great dose of squash for body and in this case, nice flavour. Aftertaste is very robust, especially considering the alcohol content and with the squash and spice pungency, this one turns out to be great - very robust, complex and sweet, while being somehow, easy-drinking. Overall, a nice beer, especially for the early portion of the season when it's still slightly hot outside and the rest of the masses are drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes, this is a good new beer from Sam Adams! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Columbia Pike), Virginia on 17-August-2020 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington on 18-September-2020.

Thanks to Peter for this bottle. Nice fruity light beginning. Hints of grain, nice allspice and pumpkin there, round and smooth.

12 oz. bottle purchased at ABC Liquor - Lake Mary, FL. Pours a crystal clear dark orange color with a small off white head and poor retention. No lacing. Pumpkin pie spices aroma. More spice flavor than beer flavor. Watery body. Drinks more like a pumpkin cider than a beer. It's enjoyable and not over-spiced, but not beery enough.

12 ounce bottle. Copper pour. Small frothy beige head. Plenty of nutmeg and cinnamon in nose. Sweet, tangy, bready malt flavor reminiscent of pumpkin spice muffins. Lemon adds the tangy component. Standard pumpkin beer fare. Overly spiced and non-distinctive.

Sam Adams has really dropped ball with their seasonal mix packs. This is only new beer this season luckily grocer broke apart and I just bought the one brew. Orange colored. Nose is thick traditional pumpkin slicing. Tastes nutmeg, Clove, cinnamon, some pie filling, brown sugar. Sweet finish.
