This golden ale carries notes of passion fruit and honey in the aroma. A suggestion of biscuit is found in the beer’s varied palate. Brewed with our 2-row barley blend, hopped with Nugget and Hallertau, then fermented on our house yeast, Tripel offers up a complex, yet dry finish.

Sampled from 22 oz. bottle. Distinctly different from the Dubbel. Orange peel and coriander burst out of the nose. Color is just a shade darker than a pilsner, may be even be a tad lighter than the dubbel. Taste is orangey and grainy. Any extra sugar in the brew is not too apparent, as there’s a well hidden hop balance to keep this enjoyable. Alcohol is also very well hidden, so be careful with this one.

Batch 66. Cloudy, golden body with large, soft white head. Big and inviting aroma of spice and fruits — clove, passion fruit, orange, banana. Multiple flavors emerge from a flowery bitter backbone, ripe sweet fruits, clove, honey, pepper. Medium body with smooth, creamy palate that seems to be a hallmark of Allagash. Sticky and long, dry finish. Warming alcohol. Outstanding.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, big orangeish white head. Fruits, sourness and weak alcohol in aroma. Flavour is fruits, weak alcohol and hops. It gets quite bitterish in the finish. Some hints of vanilla in aftertaste also. Refreshing, and the ABV is not disturbing at all.

[Bottled, thanks MrWalker!] Hazy golden. Aroma of grass, honey and banana. Sweet, fruity and lightly yeasty with rounded mouthfeel and full body. Some peppery vinous notes. Grassy finish. Solid, but bit bold.

One thousand beers. I drank this to celebrate the end of my second year of law school on 5/17/06. The beer is cloudy orange. Some sediment and a very large and thick white head that laces my Kapittel glass. This is surely in the top of its class, and this bottle from batch 32 has been aged for three years. The cork was very difficult to remove but the beer underneath is in great condition. It isn’t as soft and sweet as Karmeliet, but more upfront with the alcohol and fruit, as well as bitterness like Westmalle, but significantly better than that beer. Flavor has some light fruit, mild sweetness, and alcohol. The alcohol is also in the flavor. It doesn’t exactly help the beer but the alcohol presence works this time. Very smooth on the palate.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow-golden color with an enormous foamy white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was sweet table sugar, pear and a touch of apricot. The flavor was dry and herbal with notes of table sugar, passionfruit and noticeable alcohol. The finish was long and dry with faint sugar lingering. Fairly full bodied. Ok.
