500 ml can. Pours amber with light head. Aromas of grain, cereal and a little sulphur. Flavors of sweetened cereal, honey and doughy malts. Almost creamy.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Quid and a tick. Boom! Clear gold. Nicely soppy white foam. Proper malts and decent privet leaf hoppage. Even a hint of peppery leaf. Just about semi sweet but this has decent levels of bitterness. Good clean easy drinker overall with a bitter and light dry finish. Good, especially for 20 bob.

50cl can from Akadeemia Konsum, Tallinn. Pours clear, pale golden with a white head. Grainy aroma with mild vegetable notes, hay and hints of honey. Moderate to medium sweet with low flavour intensity and ditto bitterness. Fair enough.

Auch die Krombacher Brauerei springt auf den Urbier-Zug auf und gibt ein Pseudo-Craftbier heraus. Es ist ein süffiges Helles, das zwar reichlich Kohlensäure hat und mir für ein als extra weniger herbes Helles aber ein bisschen zu wenig gemütlich. Gut trinkbar, aber so richtig urig finde ich es auch nicht.

Clear golden with a big white head. Grainy malty aroma with some faint grassy hops. Sweet taste with a low bitter finish. Standard helles.
