new beck’s special, 4x0.33l bottle from marktkauf/edeka.
pours a clear amber with a medium yellowish head and little lacing. aroma of caramel, wood, figs. flavour of malts, nuts, chewed pencil. balanced finish, very little bitterness.

330ml bottle from trade with Erzengel, many thanks! Pours reddish copper, thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, hints of rooibos. Taste is smooth, soft malt-driven.. I guess I can get the Irish Red Ale comparison. Perhaps it even has more flavour than the likes of Smethwicks. I sense this is something best enjoyed fresh from cask by the pint, than bottle though.

33cl bottle from Spar, Berlin. Hmmmm, certainly more drinkable than expected. Rather malt aroma with caramel, hints of roasted malt and hops. Medium sweet with fairly pleasant malty flavours and a fairly nice bitterness. Not bad, but far from interesting too. Fair enough.
