Old rating from 14-08-14. 330ml bottle. Pours red/brown with an off-white head. Aromas & tastes of chocolate, dark berries, caramel & roasted malt. Medium body. Smooth light bitter finish.

Dark orange brown with a huge fluffy head that lingered and left great lacing. Toasty malt, raisin, fig and faint tobacco. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Bottle. Clear, dark amber with a large quickly shrinking head with a permanent small one and lots of lace. Aroma has hints of caramel and fruit cake. Taste slightly sweet upfront with a complex middle with a burnt sugar and dried fruit and a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle at home. Pours deep brown with no head. Nose is sweet, toasted and nutty malts, some honey. Taste is nuts, toasted notes, low fruits, light boozy touch. Medium sweet finish, light to medium body, soft carbo.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso propende per il sottobosco. L'intensità olfattiva è molto elevata e la maniera in cui permane è apprezzabile. Il mantello birroso superiore color marrone chiaro è destinato a vita breve. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana media. Il colore è come l'inchiostro nero. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è di media potenza. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. Sul tetto della bocca arrivano note di caramello, miele, liquirizia, frutta secca, agrumi e castagna.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is dark malt with caramel, roast, dark bread, and notes of raisins. Flavour is sweet with a surprisingly firm bitterness. Body is medium. Certainly drinkable, but this doesn’t have the depth of a great Doppelbock.

Аромат очень хороший, легкая жженая карамель, немного ириса, слегка кофейный солод, намеки на мед и сухофрукты, много специй. Цвет коричневый, полу темный, пенка средняя, липкая. Вкус уже не так вдохновляет. Прежде всего смущает горечь хмелевая, она слишком сильная. Хотя слегка обжаренная карамель и коричневый сахар на месте. При глотке горчинка, немного терпкая и травянистая как будто, не очень сочитается с остальными нотками. Послевкусие с намеком на мед с большим количеством специй. В целом неплохо.
