At Ease is our Altbier. Brewed with a complex assortment of Munich, Dark Munich, and Aromatic German malts, At Ease is constructed to be a hearty, robustly-flavored beer in an easy-drinking package. Following a cool top fermentation, At Ease is transferred to our large horizontal oak casks for further conditioning.

At Ease pours a dark brown color in the glass and puts forth flavors and aromas of rustic hearty malts, brown bread, hay, sturdy noble hops, and a kiss of oak softness. Robust, warming, and delicious indeed, At Ease is an authentic homage to old-time native German ale and is perfect for cool weather drinking.

Can at BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Sweetish brown malt aroma with caramel, bittering hop, a hint of roast. Mild to medium sweet, nice bitterness. Well-balanced and outspoken Altbier.

Canned Autumn 2022, drunk 10/7/22. Clear mahogany-auburn. Small, beige head showing moderate retention. Brown sugar, molasses, hazelnut and very faint roast with honey and a touch of herbs. Soft and yet peppery with an easygoing, not overly sugary caramel. Soft, malty, caramel and brown sugar but great attenuation. Herbs and pepper from the hops with ample, balancing bitterness. Light cola, light hazelnut. Very malty, rich and flavorful for its size.

Can (10/26/20) pour. It's a hazy chestnut brown with ruby highlights, nice sparkle, 2-finger beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is subtle toasted brown bread. Taste is toasted bready malts--bordering on smoked--earth, straw. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste with late mild woody oak presence. Overall, somehow I thought this would be more complex than it is. Seems like a lot went into it for a product that isn't all that earth-shattering. Meh.

16oz can from tfontana, thanks again! Pours a lightly hazy burnt amber color with a decent sized bubbly beige head that slowly recedes. Bready toasty maltiness with hints of earth and oak tannin. Pretty tasty

16 oz. can. Born on 10/26/20. Color is brown with red highlights. Aroma is rich malt; molasses, dried leaves, nuts. The oak is real subtle but the malt is rich and layered. Nice body for the style. Real good.

Pours a clear, dark brown, not unlike iced tea, with a smallish head. Aroma is roasted malt, some hops, a touch of woodiness. Flavor follows, with some breadiness as well. Clean, crisp mouthfeel.

Can thanks to William. Pours a dark copper with medium beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is toasted malt, raisin, wood, earth. Medium body, raisin, licorice, toasted malt, earth, light dry finish, very good.
