As Weihnachtsfestbier, 5.6%.
Poured clear and golden in color.
Grainy, bready malty goodness. Round mouthfeel, light caramel, dries out towards finish. Solid.

On tap at the brewery Merkendorf. Clear dark gold colour lasting white head. Now that is a tasty Marzen. Decent malt. Very decent hop on the finish white pepper hop flavour. Some good solid pale malts give a slight nutty honey flavour. I thought excellent us what I come to Franconia for.

Bottle. Nicely grainy with grassy/herbalish noble hops. Some straw. Moderate bitter, low on sweetness, somewhat dry. Medium body. Good Festbier, nicely hopped.

Flaska från Bierothek. Klar gyllengul vätska med lågt vitt skum. Doft av säd, bröd och honung. Ganska söt, blommig honung, söta aprikoser, hö, örter och en markerad gräsig beska. Kanske väl söt annars gott

Bottle. Gold, slightly hazy. Moldy apple. Taste is sweet, even sticky, bit flat. Probably better on tap.

Bottled. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is grassy, grainy some herbs and mild bready notes. Flavour is bready, grassy some sweetness andmild herbs. Smooth and quite basic.

Clear blond colour, white foam. Very nice, grassy, bitter, crispy and light sweet. Very well balanced. Great Festbier.

Optisch hell, leicht trüb. In der Nase Getreide, sehr angenehm frisch. Im Trunk erst bitter, dann süß. Danach crispy, Getreide, kurz stark bitter, fällt nach hinten aber in eine recht angenehme Süße ab. Passt.

Clear golden. Aroma is cornflakes grass very tasty dough (croissant?) and light fruit. Taste is sweet grainy cornflakes with doughy malty base and some grassy flavours. Very smooth and shallow but with a chewy base. Excellent.
