Canned (Thanks Tuija & Jari). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some dried fruits. Flavour is alcohol, dried fruits, liquorice and some toffee tones. Mild ashy elements. A bit boozy, even though abv is not that high.

Bottled. Black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is syrup, some wood, mild smoked tones with some vanilla, dried fruits and sweet rye tones. Flavour is kind of the same elements, with some alcohol, chocolate and mild roasted and tobaccoish tones as well.

Can 330ml (PET Sessions) Opaque colour, small brownish head. Toasted malty, some bourbon in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Toasted, metallic, lots of bourbon and vanilla, alcohol. Very straight-forward. Meh ... Pyynikki usually does these strong impys well but this is too much booze forward.

Where's the bourbon? Tastes more like a baltic porter than an imperial stout

330ml bottle. 2017 vintage. Sweet, smooth and heavy with loads of licorice, rose water and hints of syrup and roasty earthiness. Sweet and sticky, feels more like a Baltic porter than an imperial stout. Bourbon notes are totally gone by now. Decent.

15 December 2018. Black Beer Fest, Ieper. Cheers to Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Cloudy black, no head. Aroma of vanilla, coffee bean, cocoa nibs, perfume, rose water, black tea, dark plum. Taste is medium malty sweet, chocolatey & creamy, a hint of 'perfumey' vanilla, probably incited by the rose water; light to medium roasted bitter then, some coffee & roasted nuts but leaving quite enough room for a herbal, black tea-like touch. A retronasal hint of perfume introduces a dryish, toasty, herbal hoppy finish, lingering vanilla & cream, subtle dash of warming bourbon alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. The 'special ingredients' work well here (although I've no idea if I caught that linseed).
