Chemin de Croix's rich roasted and chocolate flavours, made evident by its dark mocha color, are accompanied by fruity esters resulting from the yeast. A resinous bitterness contributes to the overall dryness.

Cask Days 2013. I think this was my highlight beer of the festival. Jet black pour, with a big rocky, mocha head. The aroma is intoxicating! So much roast! roast, roast, and more roast. Bitter burnt, charred espresso malts. A huge dose of solid piney hope. Incredible! Carb and mouth feel as spot on.The finish is just more roast, and kick ass pine hops. Incredible stuff.

11.5 ounce bottle from DeCicco & Sons in Armani, NY. Bottled on 01/22/2016, so it’s got some age on it. Nearly opaque dark brown pour is topped by a light tan cap. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark bread. Lightly carbonated. Flavors of dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate covered espresso beans, toasted dark bread, charred wood. Dry and bitter as the taste develops. Some resinous notes. Decent flavor and complexity for a beer that’s nearly eight years old.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost balck, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, black rye bread, dark chocolate, cacao, liquorice, orange peel and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted taste with espresso, dark chocolate, black rye bread, liquorice, orange peel and a generous coffee/cacao bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Solid and well made porter with generous coffee and cacao flavours. Seriously good stuff.
