Konstantin is a rich, light-ruby colored seasonal lager. Double-decocted for complexity. Drier and lighter in color than most German-style Märzens, biscuit and bread-like malt note shine in the flavor and aroma.

A little hoppy, almost a faint vinegar aftertaste. Not a typical marzen but nice.

16 ounce can. Orange, copper color. Rocky beige head. Toasted bread and mildly spicy aroma. Dryish, malty flavor has a sharp bitterness on the tongue. Toasted malt flavor lacks the caramelly notes normally associated with the Marzen style. Medium bodied. Finishes dry with peppery hop notes. Interesting.

Clear bright copper body, thick, pillowy cream head with curtains of lacing. Nose caramely and nutty with dark fruit. It's dry as advertised- the first sip was surprising, given the heavier, sweeter aroma. The caramely, nutty notes are retained, but the emphasis is on baked bread and grassy, almost metallic hops. The creamy, soft mouthfeel plays off this bitterness. A damned nice lager.
