It’s taken years, but we’ve tweaked this legendary Imperial IPA to perfection. Flavors of pine and citrus rind rush to greet the palate and are balanced by a biscuit-like malt backbone. A bevy of Bravo, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, and Citra hops combine to make Odyssey a hop lover’s dream!

Big Top Beverage Mart, Roslyn case: Pours orange/amber colour with a creamy looking head that sticks around in some form or other for quite a bit. Aroma is citrusy hops, a lot of sugary malts, and a little bit of booze, but that is because it is quite warm. Taste is really bitter as per usual with Sly Fox. Aftertaste is pretty brutal. Some restrained sweetness. Medium bodied. Not bad.

An Imperial IPA at 8.5%? PFFT. Bring it. Thanks Chris!

A - Dark brown amber. Nice clarity, 4 finger off-white fluffy head that faded to a finger leaving behind nice lacing.

S - Malty on the nose, lots of residual sugars, american hops, pinecones and burnt orange peels.

T - Holy bitter gods. This is a bitter almost astringent beer. Malt is high but not as high as the IBUs. Chewing on a pine cone, gnawing on grapefruit skins and making tea out of pine needles and you’ve got yourself some Odyssey!

M - Heavy body.

O - It’s so heavy, you’d think it was a 10.5% IPA. It’s not but it tastes like one.

Hazy amber beer, good creamy white head. Soft palate, semi dry. Strong caramel malt, very creamy. Bitter piney hops, almost salty. Trace of orange. Lingering bitter after taste. Full in bitter IPA with an unusually luxuriant creamy malt base. A bit different.

22 oz. bottle I purchased @ the Phoenixville brewpub. Fresh bottle served at cellar temperature. The color is perfectly clear amber with normal amount of carbonation. Nose is a subdued caramel malt and toffee. Taste is pine hops upfront then flowing into grapefruit and grassy hops. The texture is dry with a lingering bitterness. Lighter in body for an Imperial however, it adds to the drinkability. Nice effervesces. Can you find much better in style? Yes you can but this is easy to drink with solid bitterness. Well made.

650ml bottle from Bierkompass

BBE 12/2/12 - Pours dark amber orange with a sticky foamy head. Aroma of biscuity malts, caramel, some fruity hops and berries. Taste is malty with some fruity hops, caramel and biscuity notes. Finish is sweetish and malty with some fruity biscuity notes and caramel. Okay, a bit unbalanced and probably not very fresh.

Light hazy and a fina golden orange colour. White head. Rich hoppy and light fruity aroma. A sharp hoppy flavour with a fine fruity and caramel background. Not a usual overkill american dipa. Lovely beer.
[Bottle. Trade with Grima. Wonder where he gets all these rare bottles from]
