15th March 2019. On a flight at the San Clemente Pizza Port bar. Nice easy drink Mild, a beige head sat upon a clean and clear brown body. Roasted and toasted malty aroma and taste with some light fruitiness and light chocolate hints in the finish. Liked it.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is rather cooked chocolate caramel. Med minus body. LIghtly hoppy in an earthy way. Very mildly chocolate. Yet the flavor as a whole is substantial. A rather pleasing departure from all those higher ABV brews. We need more of these - with the caveat that they need to taste this good.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasted malt and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, roasted nuts and hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewpub. A clear brown beer with a light beige head. Roasted, light coffee-ish aroma with some dried fruits. All a bit weak. The flavor too is roasted, with caramel notes and some bitterness. Some prunes. Medium to thin on the palate, soft. Roasted finish with some caramel. Tasteful and easy drinkable, but lacking a little on complexity. 130813
