A deep chestnut coloured ale with a sweet chocolatey aroma and a hint of citrus fruit aided by the addition of orange zest. The use of torrified wheat and oats bring body and depth to the sweet malty winter ale, with a fruity finish and pleasant bitterness.

From cask at Oddfellows, Exeter, Devon, on trip to 22 southern counties with OGJ and EE 04.01.19. Unfortunately served without sparkler. Dark copper. Small beige head. Very moderate aroma of fruit cake. Some more taste, with dark caramel, dark malt and fruit cake. Flat, even for a cask ale.

Hand-pulled cask half-pint on 13th Nov 2018 in The White Ball Inn, Tiverton Devon. Dark body, almost mahogany in colour, cream coloured head that lasted and gave some heavy lacing. Malty number, with a dark chocolate feel and a light orange twist in the taste.
