Bottle at home, cellared this one for 2 years. Pours copper with an off-white head. Nose is caramel, toffee, booze, bready malts and a hint of chocolate. Taste is sweet caramel, booze, toasted malts, biscuit, light chocolate and dark sugar. Closes with a long lasting, warming and boozy, sweet finish, has a big, viscous body with soft carbonation. Not too complex perhaps, but thoroughly enjoyable and actually better than it was the last time I had it.

Bottle picked up by JPI on his Vienna trip, and split with him over dinner. Brown with a thin, beige head. Intense aroma full of plums, raisins and toffee. Taste is malty sweet, very rich, with both a light nuttiness and plum jam fruitiness. Full bodied, smooth and silky, warming but the 12% is hardly noticeable. Pleasant sipping.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, brown colour with ruby shimmer and small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Caramel malty and fruity aroma, notes of dried fruit, raisin, date, fig, sultana, resinous hints of hop, whiffs of alcohol. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, bitter hoppy and fruity, notes of caramel, dark honey, a touch of trewcle, hints of raisin, fig, date, sultana, a touch of baked banana, minimally papery overtones, bitter, resinous, hoppy counterpart carries a touch of orange zest as well; warming, alcoholic finish. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Condensed, not overly complex maltiness, hoppy counterpart works against the sweetness as far as citrusy aspects are involved, but the resinous hop flavours add weight and even strengthen the heavy character -

Bottle picked up from Bierhandwerk, nr Freising. Had this Saturday 28th June 2020 watching The Irishman on Netflix and eating Ritter Sport Rum and Raisin Chocolate. Pours dark chestnut brown with a light beige head. Malty and with a clear sweetness pulsing through, fruity (dried fruits) raisins, strong, some bitterness. Fine.
