A 4.8% premium, British beer, triple filtered for clarity, brewed in small batches at our brewery in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside. Ideal for any Dad. A classic Dark Ruby Beer combining Pale, Chocolate and Crystal Malts to give a bright Ruby Red finish. A light hop combination of Fuggles and First Gold are added to ensure the rich malty flavour is not overpowered.

12/3/2021. Bottle from Cottage Delight, part of a Have a Hoppy Beer-thday Birthday gift pack. Pours dark ruby brown with a small bubbly/creamy off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, touch of chocolate, nut, toasted sesame. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Tangy bittersweet finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Blas Kaffe & The, Odder. Light hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit and a little chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 060118

500ml bottle into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard at home on 7th Jan 2016. A reward to myself for taking the dog our for an hours walk. Decent dark brown coloured body, the head lightly tanned and full. Malts and liquorice in the nose and taste, some rich red fruitiness within the flavour. I liked the semi-sweetness in the initial taste and the light bitterness in the finish. A lot, lot better than I expected from this beer.

Appearance- dark, ruby, no head at all really. Aroma- roasty hints, hoppy, raisin. Taste- Chocolatey, dark fruit hints, bitter hops in the background, a bit thin in the mouthfeel. Ok.

50cl bottle from Longacres, Windlesham. Reddish chestnut with a fast fading cream head; sweet caramel aroma; soft earthy caramel taste; and a thin caramel finish with a slight hint of spice. A rather average bitter.
