Brown 500ml bottle, best before the end of Feb 2010, drank end of Jan 2010. Bottle conditioned, so some sediment in the bottom of the bottle, poured carfully into my huge ’Judas’ tulip glass. A cloudy, old golden body with a pure white foaming head sat on top. I am always intreagued when a British Ale brewery has a go at a lager/pilsner, this one looks good. The head fell away to a collar and wispy covering with a little lacing left as the beer sank down the glass. Yeast aromas, grain and a hint of nutmeg all add together to produce a very interesting smell. Half lager, half ale flavours, sharp, refreshing and complexed. A bitterness in the aftertaste adds to the pleasure of drinking this brew. Good feel to this beer, different and well made.
