2/3 of the glass full of light-amberish cream coloured head over a tad of very dark ruby beer. Aromatic, bit heavy with felt, velvet, old wood, moss, and dark malts, melanoidins. Bitter, even sharp-ish flavour, dark malts, melanoidin-filled. Metallic, and again this felt/moss flavours, undergrowth, wet wood. Malt-dominated, if nowhere bereft of hops. Well-bodied if not heavy, slick and near overcarbonated. Not half bad! Not very German in character, but nothing the less for it. Txs to Stef!
33cl bottle. A hazy brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of sweet breadish dark malt, some dark fruits. Taste of dark fruits, sweet dark malt, melasse.
