330ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy, pale malty and slightly grassy, hoppy aroma. Taste is minimally sweet, grainy and strawy, pale malty, a touch of honey and cereals, grassy, moderately bitter, minimally mineral, hoppy counterpart. Watery texture, minimally dry and tinny palate, slightly coarse and prickly carbonation. Decent Helles.

Bottle picked up from Rewe Getränkemarkt, Zolling and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Bavaria. *Note abv as Garrold mentions is 5.2%. Pours gold with a good clarity, looks great, large rapidly diminishing white head. Typical nose, also hints at a sweetness to follow. Malty and with a lasting sweetness, bitterness is subtle, a touch of citrus, some grassy hops, good but could be a little more defined.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. 5.2%. Clear, pale gold. Thin and fairly dense, white head. Nose has corn syrup. Some lemon. White bread. Taste is bready sweet. Minimal bitterness. Medium body. A tad sticky and cloying. Moderate carbonation. Sweet finish.

Ein ordentlich, süffiges Bier aus Bayern. Es überzeugt durch eine Malzigkeit, welche nicht süß ist und eine gut komponierte, frische Süffigkeit hervorruft. Ein klassisches BIer, das nicht umsonst eine so lange Tradition hat.

"Kuchlbauer Helles Bier", 5,2 %, Flasche (50 cl) von Grabsch, Berlin-Lichterfelde. - Goldgelb, blank. - In der Nase die für ein bayerisches (nicht: fränkisches) Helles so typische, etwas platt süßliche Malzigkeit, die hier noch etwas dicker als üblich ausfällt und auch Anklänge an Honig zu bieten hat, dahinter schwacher Hopfen mit einem Hauch von Klostein. - Antrunk süß hellmalzig-weißbrotig, für ein Helles schon etwas dick, abgeschmeckt mit zarter zitroniger Säure und etwas Heu. Die recht derbe Hopfenherbe wirkt etwas ranzig, was im Abgang noch stärker hervortritt. Gewöhnliche Rezens, etwas trocken. Ein störend harter Zug und stark metallische Züge verleiden mir das Bier vollends. - Bayerische Helle sind einfach nicht mein Fall ... ich müßte mir das Biertrinken abgewöhnen, gäbe es keine besseren Biere.

Bottle from GBBF 2017 and drunk at home. Clear gold lasting white head. Yep decent hell enough toasty malt. Light yeast. Decent lemon. Light and enormously drinkable as you would want. Decent.
