Die Dunkle, das dritte Bier im Bunde, ist das Pendant zum Hellen. Ein klassischer Münchner Bierstil in modernem Gewand.
Es ist ein traditionelles Dunkel, gepaart mit den intensiven Aromen und der tiefen Farbe eines englischen Stouts.
Der feine Malzkörper ist röstig karamellig, das Hopfenaroma würzig harzig. Eine dezente Fruchtnote erinnert an herbsüße Früchte wie Brombeeren und schwarze Johannisbeeren.
Trinkt sich wie ein Dunkles, schmeckt wie ein Stout! Mmmhhhhh…

24/9/2019. Bottle at Mercure Hotel, Munich. Pours mid brown with a deep amber tint and an average size off-white head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, caramel, hops, fruit and veg. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Slightly odd tang to this one, only one of the 5 Tilmans beers I’ve had on this trip that I’ve not especially enjoyed.

Tilmans Die Dunkle, Flasche von Getränkefeinkost, MD-Buckau. - Tiefdunkles Kastanienbraun; auch der Schaum ist dunkler als bei anderen Dunklen. - In der Nase zart säuerliche Kaffeeherbe, trockenes dunkles Malz, schwache torfige Herbe. - Antrunk schlank dunkelmalzig mit milder Torfnote, kaltem Kaffee und sehr dezenter Karamelsüße. Kaum fruchtig, mehr kaffeebitter. Milder rezent, vollmundig, leicht trocken. Im Abgang milde, schwach herbale Herbe. - Fast asketisch wirkendes Dunkles mit zarten säuerlich-torfigen Zügen, interessanter als viele aber auch weniger gefällig, zuletzt auch etwas dünn.

From tap at the source. Clear dark copper mahogany brown color with light beige head. Malty aroma, bread, caramel, hops, grass. Sweet and moderate bitter taste. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.

On tap at Das Meisterstück, Hopfenhöcker, Munich in the company of Lynn and Barry, Saturday 30th March 2019. Pours brown with a light tan head. Quite fruity but with caramel, fine but not as fresh as I'd hoped, a little bit warm. It's ok, but I think Barry prefers this.

330 ml bottle, shared with Affesteven. Pours with a clear, dark amber color and a small white off-white head. Nose of roasted malts, cereals, slightly dried fruits. Sweet malty taste of caramel and some toffee.

Bottle on a park bench in Heidhausen, Munchen, 15/07/17. Copper to brown with a decent light beige head. Nose is toffee, chocolate biscuit, brown bread. Taste comprises cocoa powder, fruit loaf, raisins, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent.
