Pours light gold into a snifter. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to glaze surface. Tropical fruit and lemon zest aromas. Medium bodied and dry with sweet tropical fruit upfront turning peppery before the lasting grapefruit finish.

Smells like citra in the nose. Sometimes I wonder if these hop hybrids really change the base hops much. On my almost nonexistent knowledge of hops, I would think a lot of it is to improve the crop and give it more disease resistance. Because I certainly can’t tell the difference between this and citra. Initially very strong in the nose (lemony-citric hoppiness). Nectarines, pears, starfruit..that sort of thing. Malts are fully attenuated and do not show in the aroma. No alcohol or hop/yeast stink, which is nice. This smells almost exactly like Citra Ass Down, perhaps a bit cleaner and with less resin. Certainly enjoyable. Citra’s pretty high up on my list of American hops I enjoy and this is done very well.
Maltiness is almost felt before the hoppiness, which is unusual. Especially given the complete lack of malt in the nose. Sugar covered lemons, cake icing and orange liqueur all make for a very strong balance to the hops, but it may be too much. The hops are done wonderfully; bitter but not overly so, with plentiful juiciness and light pepperiness on the end. Alcohol is not felt and there’s no fatigue from the hop resin, but I still can’t shake the sweeter than expected maltiness. Wouldnt even call this beer dry, or off-dry. Doughiness and tons of honey and moist graham cracker maltiness sit on the finish, along with the peachy-lemon hoppiness. Soft, comforting mouthfeel, no doubt from all the residual sugar. Carbonation is engaging enough, but could use a bit more force to break up the sweetness.
They should do the exact same malt and hop bill/schedule with the Helios yeast. That should do a better job of drying it out and adding some needed complexity.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of intense resin hops, notes of pine, melon, herbal hop, pineapple. Pretty dank. The taste is sweet pale malts, pineapple, resin. Medium bodied, low carbonation, strong lingering bitterness.

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold pour with a big and sudsy white head. Aromas are a mix of tropical fruit (oranges, mangoes and passion fruit) with a little bit of an odd note (almost a landfill edge...) Flavor is similarly odd. Things start nice and juicy, but end in the odd category. Something is off here... it’s not awful, but I would suspect this bottle is compromised. This is on the list of beers to try again in the future.

Bottle from Total Wine in Orlando, FL. Pours burnished gold with a creamy white head. Mozaic aroma. Lots of fruit. Med+ body. Flavor is light with a lot of tropical fruit and some citrus. Finishes hoppy and "smoothly" bitter. Excellent ale.

On tap at Rattle ’N’ Hum (Manhattan). Hazy yellow. Found it a little watery and bland with simple mild hop flavour.
