Bottled. A golden beer, seems to be filtered, with a small white head. Banana, cloves and a good dash of sweetness in both aroma and flavor. Medium to full body with a little dryness. A quite nice beer. (070331)

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is hops, malts and slight metallic hints. Flavour is metallic, flowery hoppy with some buttery hints. Quite watery with lively carbonation.

Orange-gold to amber-gold; fluffy yellowish tinted head. Alcohol and more precisely fusels; grass, parsley and other garden herbs, bit of citrus peel. And candi sugar, making the nose impression mainly sweet. Bit toasted taste, very diluted orange marmalade, finishing spicey-herbal. And some more (light coloured) malts. Very empty palate & MF, lacking severely in body. Light brew that leaves an unfulfilled impression - as if it might have been that much more. Haacht brews it especially for the Aldi chain, usurping an old, much more dignified name from a disappeared abbey beer from the former Brasserie/malterie Mertens - Breda at Leuven.

Bottled (BB 07/2006)
Clear amber, good tight head. Smokey, roasted, sugary, oaky, a bit metallic nose - suprisingly complex. Burnt smokey sugars dominate in the flavor. Medium-bodied, solid mouthfeel. Smokeyness makes this slightly unbalanced and difficult to enjoy.

(Bottle: 33 cl) "Blond" they say, but it’s not particularly blonde. More along the lines of what I usually refer to as fully golden. Delicious, creamy head. The aroma is malty, slightly like iron and with a nice fullness. Quite carbonated. A decent blond ale, but not insanely exciting. 050103

A hazy orange beer with a fine white head. The aroma is yeasty with notes of citrus and hints of caramel. The flavor contains yeast caramel, and spices especially coriander. The end is dry.
