Cask at the 28th St Albans Beer Festival, 26/09/25.
Black topped with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is chocolate biscuit, dark malts, charr, roast.
Taste comprises dusty hops, chocolate, roasted bite, burnt toffee.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close spattered with earthy hop bitterness.
Solid porter ... has shades of a CDA about it.

Gravicask, half, shared with Finn at St Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2023. A decent fawn-coloured head over a near-black body, spotty lacing. Promising aromas of grainy chocolate. Cocoa-chocolate flavoured, earthy and also with a twist of dark fruits. Ends dry with earthy chocolate malts. Likeable. (Rating no. 23800) (St Albans, 27.09.2023).

På St. Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Delt med Rune. Svart. Luftig filmskum med litt farge. Aroma av sjokolade&bær. Smaken det samme. Tørr avslutning. Bra!

Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small beige head and good lacing. The aroma has chocolate and roasted malts. In the mouth it is briefly sweet before quickly becoming slightly bitter with roasted malts and a creamy texture. Flavour is mainly chocolate and treacle with some traces of honey and coffee. Some hints of alcoholic strength too, and a general smoky infusion leading to a slightly bitter finish. The is rather nice.

Handpull cask at the West End Brewery, Leicester as part of their Oakham Tap Takeover. Mid- to dark brown, shiny and translucent with a small khaki head. Light chocolate notes, some berry and a little bit of liquorice. The sweet taste has a sourish bitterness to it, more liquorice and a little bit of plum and cooking chocolate. Oily body, soft to flat carbonation. A little bit dull but can't fault it otherwise.

Pours a deep dark brown colour with a small beige head that settled. The aroma is roasted malts, liquorice and some piney notes. A moderate to light sweet malty taste, sweet roasted malts, liquorice and bitter chocolate flavours with some pine notes in a bittersweet finish.
