Can online from Cork & Cask. I've had it a while. Pours opaque black with tan foam. Aroma: deep roast, burnt toffee, cocoa, smoke. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter, roast, caramel, toffee, liquorice, cocoa, charr, light bonfire smokiness. Smooth, lightly dry on the palate. Medium to full body with fine carbonation. Very nice indeed.

Can (8.0% ABV) from House Of Trembling Madness. (Should this be a separate entry to the original 12.7% ABV version?) Black body with a tan head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, ham, treacle and chocolate. Flavour of toffee, bacon, liquorice and dark chocolate. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. This is another excellent beer from one of my favourite Scottish breweries. This is sublime.

Black beer. Thick tan head. Smoky, malty aroma. Flavour has malt, smoke. Some meaty umami notes, sweet malt too, with a bit of chocolate. Smoky, sweet, rich and rather tasty.

Bottle split at the Autumn Watford tasting, thanks to Adrian, 24/09/21. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is dark malts, light smoke, burnt toffee, roasted tones, cocoa sprinkle. Taste comprises charr, mellow bonfire, fruit cake, cocoa powder, dates, charr. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad.

440ml can, www.SophiesBeerStore.co.uk. Pours black, loose deep tan head. Lovely smoky aroma, some glazed BBQ meat notes. Taste is lovely and smooth, good rich layered dark character, the smokiness doesn't really steal the show, rather pairs nicely with a tantalising toffee sweetness that underpins a layered malt base and brings to mind supercharged dubbel vibes. A stellar smoked beer this. Excellent.

Key Keg at the Nottingham Beer Festival 2021. Hey black colour with a thick tan head. Roasted malty aroma bitter to light sweet. Smoke builds, the only downside a smoked ham like aftertaste. Full rich body.

Can shared in Watford - cheers to Tips. Pours deep brown with a foamy, beige head. Nice smoky nose. Medium sweet, a bit metallic, more smoked malts, a little cocoa, earth, raisins. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm, lightly sticky finish, more smoked malts. Not bad.
