Brewed from Nuggett, Goldings and Northdown hops, WPA (Welsh Pale Ale) is a rising star in the world of Welsh pale ales. Golden in colour with a refreshing, spicy flavour with hints of tropical fruits balanced by a delicious malty finish, it’s an excellent quaffing beer and a perfect partner to shellfish.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. On the good side it looked great once settled - clear amber, creamy white head, great lacing. Nice smooth mouthfeel as well. Unfortunately it tastes a bit like cardboard; some bread and light floral hop if being generous. Normally when I'm out having a few beers I start with cask and then move to craft. I did it the other way around this time so possibly a schoolboy error.

Cask at Tanners Hall, JDW Darlington. Gluten Free. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, biscuity. Taste is malt, bready, biscuit, with tangy earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bitter finish. Quite OK

[July 2023] Light gold with a slight haze, a frothy white head and light malt and something fruity on the nose. Slightly creamy body, gooseberry I’d say with subtle light malt and a sweet finish

(Cask at Penderel's Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 24 May 2022) Pale golden colour with creamy, white head. Malty nose with peaches, bread, toast and hints of boiled vegetables. Fruity, malty taste with notes of bread, peaches, toast and a balanced dusty bitterness in the finish. Mewdium body, quite dry. Refreshing. Quite nice.

Cask @ Royal Pavillion, Ramsgate. Hoppy, slightly understated pale ale texture and taste, but it is evident. Has a head. First ever purchase through the Spoons app - just a bit of personal history.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A straw coloured pour with a thin white head; crisp grainy aroma; grainy taste, slightly soapy; and a crisp finish with a touch of pepper. A pleasant summer pint.

Hand-pulled pint in Montgomery Towers, Shrewsbury on 22nd May 2022. Clean golden body, white crown. Found this all a bit bland to be honest, wish I'd ordered a half.
