This ruby black Oatmeal Stout is brewed with pale malt and specialty dark malt with rich notes of roast, chocolate ganache, cold brew, and caramel softened by a smooth oat body.

Keg at the brewery tap in Corvalis, 10/11/14. Light black with moderate tan edgework. Nose is dark red berries, malty wafts, chocolate, light roast. Taste comprises light roast, lactic pangs, chocolate, toffee, red berry licks. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house. Pours a dark brown appearance with a thin brown head. A bit of coffee along with a bunch of cocoa, dark chocolate, oatmeal, and vanilla. A bit twangy fruitiness from the coffee in the flavor. A lot of chocolate with a nice soft body. Pretty nice.

On tap. Pours a pure black color with a medium tan head. The aroma is light dusty oats and chocolate. The flavor is medium sweetness, a light roasted malt, smooth oats, figs, milky chocolates. Very nice.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours glossy black with a medium thick tan head that diminishes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Difficult to detect aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium, smooth body with flavors of coffee, dark malt and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is roasty with a short coffee aftertaste. Just average overall.
