Almost a couple years ago Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, CEO/Founder/Owner of Mikkeller, visited Sacramento and brewed an Imperial Stout here at Moksa. We decided to stash a small part of that original brew in apple brandy barrels to take the beer to another level. Twenty-three months later the base beer was finally ready to exit the oak. We treated it with Dulce de Leche, Mexican Vanilla Beans, Nicaraguan Cacao Nibs form Cru Chocolate, and a custom blend of Vietnamese, Papau New Guinea, and Brazilian coffee roasted by our friends at Mostra Coffee. This beer is barrel forward but is well complimented by the flavors of the additional ingredients. Show Less

Draught, taster. @MBCC 2021, Copenhagen (Denmark). 22/10/2021 [#4.383 Global - #502 United States of America - #1 Moksa Brewing Company (My Brewery #194 from the States)] Pitch black, lacing beige head. Coffee, light vanilla and whiskey barrels. Intense roasty woody finish. Next one please!

ABV: 13.5%. Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, chocolate, cocoa - vanilla - coffee - chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, chocolate, roasted, cocoa - vanilla - coffee - chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20211022]

Tap@MBCC Yellow session - black with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty, chocolate, caramel, full body, vanilla and coffee laden rich intense malty close. Beautiful.

Bottle thanks to Jeremy. Pours a very dark brown with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong apple skin, wood, vanilla, cocoa. Slick body, apple brandy, vanilla, wood, cocoa, cloying sweetness, very nice.
