This year's version continues that amazing base 'Noche pedigree with stout aged an average of 25 months (some as old as 33 months) in barrels that include Old Weller Antique 107, George Dickel 11-yr Bottled in Bond, Blanton’s Original Single Barrel (8-yr), Limited Edition Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon (15-yr), Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Chocolate Rye (6-yr) and Old Forester 1910 double barrels.
After all that extended aging and subsequent multi-step blending, the finished base was conditioned on more than 3 lbs/gallon of toasted coconut flakes and raw coconut chips (read: an absolute TON of coconut), then finished with toasted hazelnut. As much as we loved the 2020 version of this beer, 2021 has captured our hearts and palates even more, and we couldn't be more stoked to send this follow-up out into the world.

500mL bottle, pours a motor oil black, no head. Nose is divine, with a ridiculous amount of roasted hazelnuts, coconut flakes, and complex bourbon barrels — the hazelnuts are over the top. Flavour is unbelievably intense, with a ridiculous amount of coconut and roasted hazelnut, syrupy molasses, and all sorts of bourbon barrel depth. The hazelnut and coconut is over the top. The palate is syrupy, but just shy of cloying. Intense but a wonderful treat in small amounts. Pretty divine stuff.

Draught, taster. @MBCC 2021, Copenhagen (Denmark). 23/10/2021 [#4.520 Global - #582 United States of America - #7 Weldwerks Brewing] Pours black with a small tan head. Nuts, bourbon, dark chocolate, soft coconut, vanilla. Hazelnuts goddess. Thick, oily and rounded. Next one please!

B1 was a coconut bomb heaven, B2 is a hazelnut bomb. If too much coconut is sunscreen then too much hazelnut is a salty cookie or something. Def bottling variances cause this is my second time having it and it's still a hazelnut bomb but good! Mad syrupy.

[10/23/2021] Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2021. Green session. Viscous black. Big chocolate, hazelnuts, Loacker waffle, Kinder Bueno, vanilla, bourbon, sweet, full-bodied, thick, rounded, oily. Incredible. One of the best beers I've ever had.

High expectations obviously, and yeah it's nice. Very nice. Not mindblowing though.

Bottle at share. Oily black pour. Aroma is chocolate and coconut, vanilla, sweet, candy bar. Taste is like a Mounds bar, rich coconutty flavors, sweet chocolate. Great use of the adjuncts here.

On tap at the brewery. Pours tar black and nearly as thick. Coconut, coconut syrup, milk chocolate, coconut sugar, light bourbon, light vanilla, way too much coconut, way too sweet, and it’s that sweet coconut thing that coconut water has that is not pleasant. Good thick oily body. If you had no sense of taste or smell and solely evaluated beer on texture this is incredible. Otherwise, kinda garbage. A complete sugar bomb. The hype on this is really not even vaguely justified, maybe batch 1 was better? A huge disappointment.
