Draft at Upland Sour Fest. Cloudy yellow color, thick white head. Aroma of tart apple skins and lemon rind. Taste is very earthy, not quite dank, overripe citrus. Very soft sourness. Tasty.

Golden trüb im Glas, kein Schaum. In der Nase schon recht sauer, Weintraube. Im Trunk sauer, aber angenehm, Weizen, matter, immenoch saurer Abgang, leicht süß, dann bitter. Kribbelt, wärmt, das ist ein gutes Bier.

Bottle shared during the Grand Tasting of RBWG 2015. Pours hazy yellow with a foamy white head. Moderately sweet, with some dried biscuits, cereal, lemon pith. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with slight tang, tart lemons, some more hay and cereal. OK.

500ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity and slightly wheaty aroma, hints of unripe nectarine, mirabelle, apricot, a premature sauerkraut-like lactic touch. Taste is mildly tart, lemon juice notes, minimally wheaty, malty basis, hints of unripe nectarine, mirabelle, apricot, very subtle sweetness. Relatively full body Berliner Weisse - superbly balanced, mild enough tartness doesn’t really exert a contracting influence on facial expression; nevertheless superbly refreshing and very quaffable.

Poured from bottle at Braukunst Live München 2015.
Pale yellow, cloudy body, with a big, unstable, frothy, white head.
Aroma of barnyard, slight cheese, citrus, tangerine, spices, dried fruits.
Taste follows this, except with less barnyard.
Light mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes moderate sour, spicy, citric.

Nice one. Very easy to drink and with fresh aromas. A bit too light for my liking though.

500 ml bottle purchased as part of the 8 bottle mixed pack at Gomer’s on State Line in Kansas City, Missouri. As with all of these Urban Chestnut beers, the label says “For Bottled On Date See Neck” and there is no date on the neck. Oh well. The pour is an almost clear yellow light golden with a large, 4 inch white head. A bunch of fine carbonation bubbles rise up in the glass The aroma is tart acidic citrus, earth straw and a bit of sour wheat. The taste follows the nose, tart lemon citrus right up front, with grass and wheat behind that. Flavors are nice and crisp. The palate is light bodied, spritzy carbonation, and tart finish. Nice Berliner Weisse, very refreshing.
