Mijmer - Barrel-aged wild beer with 115g/L black currant and fennel seed.
Splashing fruits supported by a fennel seed body. Mijmer has been aging on the barrel for 27 months. In the nose you smell the fruitiness of the black currants and notes of vanilla, embracing the barrel. The black currants are picked at food forest De Nieuwe Hof and have macerated for 3 months in the beer. A subtle hint is added by the fennel seeds, which were roasted briefly. The seeds are harvested at de Ommuurde Tuin. Mijmer is a very complex beer while being very soft to the palette with only a smooth touch of sourness, even though its long barrel aging"

During MBCC 2023 Saturday morning session with Matt, Brian, Ryan, Phill, Erik, and superhelpful and funny Rachel, hehe. Appearance: ok. Aroma: black currant, fennel seeds, weird combo. Taste: same. Overall: odd.

Bottle. Very lively pink to purple with big thick pink head. Lots of black currant, even more fennel, wheat, light yeasty, a bit of earthy dried herbs and soft sour citrus. Medium sweet and sour. Medium bodied with thick fruit feel. Nice.

Tap at Arendsnest by the canal in the sun, 19th April 2023. Pours a hazy red brown, nice head. Aroma is funk, horse blanket, tart fruits, taste is funky, earthy, blackberries come through, sweet and sour, very layered and complex. Delicious

Nice orange-red colour, fruity sourish nose. The beer starts great fruity, moderate sour with tons of mild fruity yeast in the back. Dry, very fruity with herbal dusty parts on the tongue. Refreshing, very interesting. Great stuff.

Bottle, bought from Nevel at Rotzooi Fermentatie Festival at Smaakpark in Ede. A wild beer with 250g/L black currant and fennel seeds, aged for 24 months in oak barrels. Color: Very dark hazy purple, thin pink head. Aroma: Black currant, wild yeast funk, earthy, herbal. Taste: Earthy, light to moderate sweet and tart, light bitterness, black currant, horse blanket wild yeast funk. Subtle herbal notes. Hints of oak wood and tannins. Dry to very dry finish. Nice.

THT Halloween. Batch #1. Hazy red pulp with white head. Sour berries, blackcurrant, mint, clover. Very nice, fruity and vegetal. With a hint of Schramm’s mead (blackcurrant). Yummmzo. Thump thump 💕 Nevel crush!

Hazy ruby with off white head. Blackberries, black currants, very herbal, soft oak, typical Nevel yeast, minty, fennel, soft oak. Medium sweet and sour, light bitter. Medium bodied. Nice mix between fruit and spices. Noice.
