Langgaard Porter is a porter with extra hops. The beer is brewed with seven different types of malt - and is spiced with a little star anise. Rued Langgaard, who gave his name to the beer, was a composer and organist at Ribe Cathedral, and would have turned 125 in 2018. Langgaard was very fond of porters.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours black with an orange hue and a small, rough, beige head. Lovely vanillaish roast aroma. Medium body, roastiness with an edge of licorice and tobacco. Slightly roasty bitterness. Luckily you cannot taste the star aniseed. 240625

500ml bottle at Postgaarden. Shared with Skinnyviking. A beige head resting over a jet black body, spotty lacing. Roasted malty smell, hints of caramel, dough, and liquorice, promising. Quite well balanced taste of black malts and dark fruits, including liquorice, caramel, and prunes. Plain roasted malty finish. Medium bodied. Pretty decent. (Ribe 19.10.2021).

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, bread, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, liquorice, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.

50 cl bottle. Pours dark brown, deep red glare. Small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Breadish. Dark malty. Roasted. Caramelish. Breadish. Roasted finish. Vague smoked.

Bottle@Lars - Black pour with a small tan head. Dark roasted charred malty with notes of cocoa, some smoked charred earthy notes, medium body, dark malty finish.
