500ml bottle: BBD 9th July. Poured into an old Schlossbrau Pils stemmed glass (three times). This beer is an old friend. I used to buy packs of 10 x 33cl stumpy bottles when I lived in Germany: bright yellow carrying boxes known as Herfy Handbags by all the Royal Air Force lads back then. Anyway back to today: mown the lawn, reward this! Pours the regular clean golden yellow you’d expect from a Lager/Pilsner, the white head hung around though, so makes a change, as they normally fade swiftly on this style of beer in my opinion. Dry compared to most German Pilsners but with the same crispness and cleanliness you’ll get from them all. Not a big aromatic or flavoursome beer, just refreshing and thirst quenching. No serious sense provoking subtleties or hidden quirks but a solid, no nonsense beer.

Premium lager with cream white, thick, relatively stable foam and bright straw blonde colour with golden hue. Pale malts aroma, clean with a lightly spicy hop touch, bit citrussy. Smooth in the mouth, mineral-like, clean and crisp, pale malt sweetishness, whiff of herbal hop bitterness in the tail. Correctly made but predictable.

A classic German Pilsner with grassy herbal profile. A quality product but nothing special.

Catch up rating. Had on tap in northern Germany. The color is pale golden yellow, with a one finger head that quickly becomes half finger. Aroma is of malts, a slighty grassy. Nice bitter taste, with a slighty more bitter aftertaste. Medium thickness on the body. Overall, quite good, slighty above your average pilsener.

Goldgelbes Pils mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch herb, würzig, getreidig. Geschmack malzig herb, getreidig, bitterer Abgang.

herber Antrunk, malzig-Getreidiger Hauptteil mit leicht herb muffigen Tendenzen. Nachgeschmack frisch-herb, leicht muffig, getreidig bitter. --> 8/10/7/8
