Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Clear amber with a nice fluffy white top. Aroma of caramel, hints of chocolate, hay, quite sweet. Quite sweet and grainy in taste, caramel, a vague stewed fruit, some fustiness and spice from the hops. Medium bodied, light stickiness, fine carbonation. It's one of those beers that grows on you after a while. This one has a reasonable moreish quality.

On gravity at the Gryphon, Bristol. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweet and fruity, with plenty of caramel and some leafy hops, before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
