Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, fudge, roasted and cherry. Slightly ashy, smokey taste. Also slightly dry. Good.

Keg at the Fell Bar, Kendal. Black with a barely-there tan head. Coffee syrup, bourbon biscuits, dark brown sugar, dates and a mild to moderate roastiness. It's quite nice but maybe a little too syrupy?

0,25l from tap at Dynamo bar. Black color, small coffee colored head. Smells coffee, toffee, soy sauce, nutty, bit sweet, bit roasty, earthy. Nice smell to very nice smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes soy sauce, nutty, berry notes, bit peppery, slightly sour, earthy. Finishes lightly sour with notes of berry, nutty and soy sauce. Pretty nice one, bit on the sour side

Black beer, thick tan head. Smell is malty and a little sugary. Flavour has sugar, sweet malt, some coffee, a little tanginess too, I thought it was going to be too sickly but dark chocolate and toastier malt comes through in the finish for some balance.

Visit to their tap room last year: very dark bour. Aromas of cocoa, coffee, caramel/toffee and cream. taste was a little sweeter than expected, but has a pleasant bitter finish - very enjoyable.

16oz can from salt Horse. near black pour with a wispy beige head, light lacing. Sweet malty aroma, roasty, brown sugar, coffee. taste is sugary also, sweet, roasty malts cropping up in the background. Oily, loose feel, but leaves with a dry, bitter finish.Interesting.
