There is a first time for everything, and this is one of ours. Fat Elvis, our mammoth Imperial Stout has been aged out for 16 months in fresh bourbon barrels, then transferred to more fresh bourbon barrels where it continued to age for another 10 months. A smooth, deep layering of flavors is the result of this first time experiment.

On tap at Central Waters - Milwaukee, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is rich, with huge oaky wood, big roasted malt, and some bourbon. Flavour is rich and bold, with deep wood, some oakiness more than pronounced bourbon, and deep roasted malt. A bit not but nicely refined regardless. Quite dry for a BA impie, which Im very happy about. Excellent.

On tap at Lucille. Pours near black with a grayish brown head and that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of earthy barrel with chocolate, roast and dark grains with an earthy vanilla backbone. Flavor has leathery roast and strong barrel with roast and earthy dark grains backing.

65 cl bottle @ Hatanpää tasting room No BBE or vintage info. Aroma has cocoa and chocolate. Flavour has chocolate, alcohol and cocoa. Warming alcohol in the finish - turning into burning booze. Too sharp alcohol here.

Tasting at Ryan's, bottle
Dark brown colour, near black. Strong aroma of chocolate, alcohol, petrol, bourbon. The alcohol is very strong, so the body is not very thick; burnt sugar, some dark malt, some molasses, bourbon, quite boozy. Clean.
Excessive, but also good.

22oz (thx, Peter K. for your help with getting this one!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: lots of bourbon barrels with some chocolate notes. Taste: along the same lines, thick, boozy, lost of nice bourbon barrel character. Overall: very barrel forward, very nice.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Near black with minimal tan head. Bourbon barrel forward, roast malt, molasses, booze. Big and barrel-y. Upper end of booziness without going over the line in terms of balance (but verging on it).
