From bottle at a tasting @ Bor’s, with Borresteijn, Zlotta, Markoijelena, Adamnowek, Skortila, MarcodL and Harmen. Hazy red/brown color. Dense off white head. Aroma’s: nutty, fruity, some banana. Ratronasal: wehat, banana, sweet, just a hint of smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet with light wheat sourness. Medium bodied. Not much news in the finish. OK

Sampled from 0.65 l bottle at Borresteijn’s place, best before October 2017. Clear, very dark brownish red with a tan head. Sweetish-malty, smoky aroma of smoked ham, caramel and nuts. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky taste of caramel, nuts and smoked ham, followed by a short, smoky-bitter, slightly sourish taste. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, but rather thin.

First ever smoked wheat beer. Very dark, almost black, with a creamy head that lingers for the duration. Not at all fruity for a weizen, no hint of cloves or banana. Instead the beer veers torwards chocolate and caramel, with a pleasant mix of roasted malt. Did not notice much of a smoked flavor at all until the last few sips. Enjoy this on its own, without food, which can easily overwhelm the subtle delectations of this brew. A creative and interesting weizen.
