Citra has an awful lot to answer for. Its versatility has made it a key component in so many of our beers over the years, helping to complement and elevate other hop varieties. Here, it stands completely on its own, allowing you to indulge fully in its aromatics of ripe, juicy mango, passion fruit and tangerine.

Can from Brewcraft at home with Ronin homeakase. Hazy dull yellow pour. Aroma is dank mango bitter citrus pith with alcohol. Really nice. Taste is juicy citrus rind and mango puree and alcohol warmth. Palate is smooth with fine mild carbonation and prickly pithy finish. Warmth from alcohol. Very finely crafted, as always from Cloudwater. Hard to describe but always palpable. This is a great one, showcasing broader-than-just-citrus capability of Citra.

3rd October 2021 Can. Hazy orange gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, a tad thin, mild creamy sweetness. Citra here, is a little green-grassy-skunky and has a mild savoury skunk. Decent pine. Reasonably bright and fresh orange, touches of mandarin and tangerine. Modest lemon sherbet is a Brucie bonus. A bare whisper of something tropical. Light finish. It's fine, but nothing is making me go wow, this is better than many many other Citra single hop beers.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of passionfruit, sponge cake and salted orange. Flavour of lemon drops and papaya. Medium to full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is so good. If any brewery is going to nail a big, bold Citra DIPA, it’s Cloudwater.
