Pushing the boundaries of barrel-aged stouts is in our DNA, and with that, we brought to life our first-ever cola-inspired variant. Brewers Paul Cade and Jason Krasowski bonded over their love for a classic cola while creating the Classic Cola Stout. Combining the refreshing nature of classic cola and picking up the flavor profile from a whisky cola, we added lime and orange juice and zest, plus coriander, cassia bark, nutmeg, brown sugar, and vanilla to bring out the complex characters of the classic drink. This is the ultimate twist on a whiskey cola and a must-try for Bourbon County Stout, cola, or whiskey/cola lovers.

355ml bottle @ Belgian Beer Geeks Autumn Gathering 2025. Pours black, medium sized tan head. Unexpected but pleasant coconutty shades come into view alongside some herbal cola aspects, though it doesn't really bring to mind much of the original Bourbon County Stout in its flavour profile, with a low-lying bourbon presence and settled chocolate notes. Good to have tried, but perhaps one that was better fresh.

Arôme sur un bouquet qui reprend les grandes lignes de ce gros stout de Bourbon County – toujours la maîtrise de la barrique avec de fins effluves de vanille avec en retrait un rétro-nasal épicé – cannelle, réglisse/anisé, vanille, barrique – caramel, toffee, chocolat.
Palais est profond malté – profond, barrique plaisant avec une petite note d’épices en fin de bouche rappelant la cannelle, girofle, coriandre et léger réglisse avec une douceur de barrique qui tend à donner qcq indications de vanille.

Amazingly never had this one fresh - sad to say I don’t think it’s aged well. Very little character outside of the bourbon, save for a lingering bitterness. Possibly the weakest BCBS I’ve ever had.

2021 bottle from a trade. Thanks Cory for the assist! Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that lingers. Cacao nib, cinnamon/cassia bark, citrus and coriander dominate the nose. Palate is very similar with some cinnamon really coming on strong. Some star anise-like notes as well. More dark chocolate, bourbon, light vanilla and citrus on the finish. Oak and vanilla provide a nice smooth character throughout, but the warming bourbon remains. Really great and definitely punched up from what I expected.
