Well stored bottle (backlog February 2017) Dark brown, almost black body with a small, short lived beige head. Strong, nice aroma of dark malt, dry fruit, wood and vinous. Flavor is super smooth, strong malt, some caramel, oak, dry fruit and warming alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Smooth, complex and really tasty.

Shared 330 ml bottle. Black colour, tan head. Nice aroma of oak and exotic woodwork, mild roast malts, chocolate and vinous notes. Excellent flavour with the same elements, hints of cigar tobacco.

330m bottle, batch nr. 1030, picked up at Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge a few years ago. Shared with Finn and Richard. Oily pour revealing a deep black body, a naked surface and dotted spots on the glass. Roasted black malty nose with hints of berry skins. Interesting taste profile of oak, leather, moments of smoked malts, and dark berries. Malt-berry ending, mid-sweet. Smooth on the swallow. Quite enjoying. (Tromsø 16.12.2017).

Flaske 330ml spandert av Rune. Delt med ham og Richard på førjulstreff i WCveien 15 Des 17. Mørk rubinrød. Lavt skum. Litt lacing. Lett røykaroma med hint av mørke bær. Smaken lett syrlige bær. Balansert. Lettdrikkelig.

Black and oily with no head. Aroma has a hint of alcohol and lots of cognac. Flavour too has prominent cognac. There’s quite something from the barrel too including a light fruity sharpness. In the background a rounded, dark roasty malt bitterness.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Pitch black, dark espresso head. Smells of red wine barrel and dried sour cherries. The taste is of a silky smooth, balanced and easy drinking stout, with nothing in particular standing out, except a slight tartness - more like sour cherries than red wine - and woody barrel notes. A little strange, but not bad overall.

330ml bottle from Denman liquor store. Bottled 11-May-2015. Pours an opaque dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is red wine, cherries in chocolate, some boozy notes. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate and cherry and red wine notes. Kind of mix of stout and oud bruin ale. Very interesting, but not even close to Imperial Stout, probably because of too long aging in the barrel while it almost lost its stout character there.

Bottle from Denman Wine and Spirits, Vancouver
It pours a black color, rather dense, with barely any head. Some aroma of dark caramel and an impression of red wine. Full bodied, with moderate residual sweetness; the flavor has the expected dark malts, but also red wine, with a hint of tobacco and liquorice, and mild sourness. Also, raher undercarbonated and boozy.
A bit weird; I would like it more without that vinous acidity.
