Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Deep coffee and espresso aromas on the nose with dark chocolate and milk chocolate mixed. A touch of treacle underneath. Oak, vanilla, bourbon, coffee and dark chocolate on the palate. Drying finish with coffee, peppery rye-like notes alongside warming bourbon, vanilla and oak. So good. One of those rare cases where each year the beer gets better seemingly.

12oz bottle, assumedly 2022 vintage, drunk 12/18/22. Dark cola-ebony, tan head to ring quickly. Stale coffee, very light green bell peppers. Some black pepper, as well, with alcohol, very low barrel character and syrupy base malt sugar adding milk chocolate and heavy caramel. Not all that aromatic, mostly on account of the spicy pepper character dominating. Oh, did someone prank me and switch out the contents of this bottle with Kahlua???! Because I only get lightly syrupy coffee and liqueur notes. No complexity whatsoever, no interesting (any) barrel character. Just coffee, syrup, sugar and alcohol. To its credit, its not punishingly sweet or hotly alcoholic, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about this. Just sad to see the ratings for this so high. This is a well, well, well-below average barrel-aged stout. No interesting barrel character, no malt complexity, and even the coffee is unidimensional and lightly peppery.

Black coffee, dark chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Black with small brown head. Very sweet coffee, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter hay and alcohol flavor. Good body - boozy coffee aftertaste.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a fizzy brown head that quickly disappears. Coffee, cocoa, bourbon, dark fruit in the aroma. Syrupy, with flavors of cocoa, coffee, molasses, bourbon, dark fruit, vanilla. Has a nice roasty coffee and oak quality to it overall. Very tasty!

Inky black body, thin dark ring of small bubbles. Big, heavy, inky nose with strong coffee/espresso, roast, oak, and booze. Huge, ashy, oily body with coffee, sherry, raisin/prune/leathery fruits, chocolate liqueur and oak. Nice sweet/bitter balance. This seemed to arrive with little fanfare for how damned good it is.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a pitch black with medium to high viscosity and nice brown head that lingers. Massive coffee and espresso nose up front with oak, bourbon and vanilla creamer. Silky and velvety on the palate, warming bourbon and oak-y vanilla underneath. Chocolate, and espresso throughout. Really nice stuff.
